Bring your own horse and enjoy a leisurely ride to the top of Seneca Rocks on a private trail. The trail is a gradual scenic climb that takes approximately, 1 1/2 hours roundtrip with two breaks. Riders will see the breathtaking vista from atop Seneca Rocks. Through special permission, this trail is open to private riders for this event.

Once on top, continue the self-guided ride on a marked trail through the Monongahela National Forest.

SCHEDULE: This ride will depart at 12:00 (Noon) on Sat. 10/13/18. A meal will be served prior to ride at 11:00 a.m. Horses can arrive anytime after 8:30 a.m. $20.00 per rider. We ask that riders return to site by 5 p.m.

RIDERS MUST YIELD TO STABLE HORSES ON TRAIL.

Overnight camping on Friday is available by request.

FAQ

How long is the trail?
Trail to Rocks is 45 minutes one way
Trail to Rocks is actually a road, so sudden cliffs or drop off to be concerned about. Not a mule trail. Inexperienced riders go up this trail everyday.
How long is the ride?
Additional riding in National Forest is a LOOP (yeah!) and depending on your riding style 2 1/2 – 3 1/2 hours on mountaintop, plus the ride downhill. Trail will be marked in blaze orange.
What are the camping/ stable options like?
Overnight Camping is available (free-will offering) Corral available for 6-8 horses that can be kept together is available. Call to reserve. Several standing stalls are available, you are responsible for bedding & clean up. NO HIGH LINE TYING. Portable corrals are ok. Electric hook-up available. Bathhouse/restrooms on site.
What time is lunch?
Lunch at 11:00 AM. Prior to Ride. Must be on trail by 12:00 so we do not disrupt the guided stable ride business.
Where is parking?
Parking is at Yokum’s “Rides to the Top” in the campground area.

SPECIAL NOTE: Bridge across North Fork River must be crossed at beginning of the ride. Horses/Riders unsure about crossing bridge ask about the limited special parking accommodations available.
